Sri Lanka vs England match took a decisive turn when Sril Lanka reply was shoddy as usual. They were flopped by some tight bowling and poor running. They were shot down to 15/4 in three overs and it all looked over then.

However, Angelo Mathews stood firm with Chamara Kapugedera and gave Sri Lanka some respite. When Kapugedera got out,Perrera and Mathews launched the onslaught. They took 21 runs in 12th and 16th over to take the chase to the brink.

Perrera got out at the wrong time, but Dasun Shanaka kept the momentum up while Mathews limped while struggling with his hamstring.

Shanaka got out with Sri Lanka needing 17 runs of 10 balls. There on Mathews couldn’t hit the big shots and Sri Lanka lost by 15 runs.

Sri Lanka vs England match result meant that England and Sri Lanka have qualified for the semifinals.
