Shahid Afridi 49 Runs Off 19 Balls Against New Zealand

This did not prove another bad day for Shahid Afridi fans as the hard hitter has come back with his same form he used to have. Shahid Afridi has scored amazingly fast 49 runs off 15 balls against Bangladesh on 16th March 2016.

Playing at Eden Gardens, this day was looking Afridi day as he hit 5 sixes and 4 fours to reach just one run shy of his another fastest fifty in International Cricket.

Afridi started his innings with a six and then he did not look back. The Pakistani captain, came on second down as he was looking already aggressive after the wonderful start provided by Ahmad shahzad ans Muhamamad Hafeez.

Both Ahmad Shahzad and Muhammad Hafeez scored fifties. Shahzad scored 59 runs off 39 balls with a strike rate of 133.3 and 8 fours.

Earlier Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first. He was looking to take advantage of the batting pitch and his batsmen proved him right. Sharjeel Khan started brilliantly but suddenly lost his wicket to Muhammad Sunny.

In attempt to make a really big hit over the head of the bowler, Sharjeel Khan got stumped out by Mashfiqur Rehman.

Ahmad Shahzad and Muhammad Hafeez recorded 90 plus runs partnership. It was a strong batting display by both opener Shahzad and one down batsman, Muhammad Hafeez. Both of them were looking into their best as they were easily getting gaps.

Shahzad was looking really good. He played some brilliant shots all over the ground and managed to get his first fifty of the 2016 world cup with 8 fours.

Hafeez scored 64 off 42 balls with a strike rate of 152.38. Shahzad had a strike rate of 133.3 while Afridi scored with a strike rate of 257.89.

Bangladesh now has to chase 201 in 20 overs. They have strong openers but it is now time for Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Irfan to keep them down. Let see who wins the match.
