Usman made a half century in his comeback match against the Melbourne Renegades. The left handed Usman opened the innings fearlessly. He hit his first boundary in the second over. Usman then kept on his good form and went after Dwayne Bravo’s bowling. He also smashed Tom Cooper around the ground. He hit total of 9 boundaries in his innings of 62 runs. He only faced 42 balls. It was Usman’s hitting that took the run rate to 6.0 from the second over. In the 3rd over, he took the run rate to 9.0 by his fantastic boundaries on the both sides of wicket.
In just 5.2 overs, Sydney Thunder was able to make a total of 50 runs with the run rate of 9.48. There was no wicket fallen at that time. In the 6th and 7th overs, he scored 2 more boundaries. He completed his half century in the 8th over. Shane Watson and the crowd both congratulated him for his lovely comeback. The team’s score was 1/68 at that time and the run rate was over 8 per over.
For the team Sydney Thunder, Usman has made a successful comeback. Along with Usman, Mike Hussey has also another Australian batsman who has made his comeback. With legendary names like Jacques Kallis and Shane Watson in the team, Thunder has made a strong team for the BBL clashes. Both teams do not have many games left in the tournament.
