England vs Afghanistan match will start at 2.30 pm Pakistan Standard Time.

England vs Afghanistan match is building up to be a thrilling encounter. The match is scheduled to be played on 23rd March, at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, New Dehli.

England are high on confidence after they beat South Africa in a record chase of a mammoth 230 runs. They seemed down and out at the end of the first innings against South Africa, but came out with all guns blazing and reached the total without any fuss.

The Afghan cricket team’s story is an inspiring one. Their journey has been overwhelming so far, as they have threatened, both Sri Lanka and South Africa in their respective games. The Mohammad Shehzad force, popularly known as MS, has been the talking point until now. He has been blistering with the bat at the top and has been sharp behind the stumps as well.

Afghan bowling seems to lack the vigor to topple the better sides in the world. They need to get their fielding spot on as well. They have improved a great deal from their poor show in the 2012 World T20. In that tournament, Afghanistan were embarrassed by the English team by 116 runs.

England who were downed by the Gayle Storm in their first game against West Indies, have to win this game to strengthen their chances for confirming a semifinal berth. Their bowling is a serious concern, as they concede 230 runs against South Africa and weren’t able to defend a 180+ total against the Windies. However, a change of venue may favor the English bowlers.

Afghanistan, on the other hand have lost both their games and for them to stand any chance they will have to at least win their remainder games. That seems a distant dream, though and even if they are able to topple the English team it will do the Afghan team a world of good.
