The good batting on a not so favorable pitch for the Kiwis got them a fighting total against the kangaroos of 246. The odds became very much high right from the start in the favor of New Zealand. The star batsman for today is Brandon McCullum. The captain played super innings of 47 runs on just 27 balls to get their team to where they are in the match.
Guptil started innings with a great fiery mood. He made a 59 run contribution to the total. But the captain in the upper order did something even better. McCullum scored his runs faster than any other batsman for Kiwis. His strike rate was 174.07.
