India suffered a big blow by the hands of Australia in ODI series this month January 2016. The T20 series for India has always been very important especially when they Pakistan or Sri Lanka. The latest news from Sri Lankan side is not so impressive.
The T20 series for India Vs Sri Lanka is scheduled to start in India in February just before the world cup. Sri Lanka’s legendary key fast bowler Lasith Malinga who is the lifeblood of their cricket at the moment, he is also the skipper of T20 side. He is suffering from an injury and he will not play in T20 games scheduled from 9 to 14 Feb.
Lasith has been out of the team due to a serious knee problem that became an injury. He was out of team for New Zealand tour and he will also remain out of the Indian Tour before the Asia Cup. He is still under treatment, the chances are he will recover soon by his strong will to lead his side again. It may take him a fortnight to recover.
His best buddy and Test / ODI captain Angelo Mathews is also suffering from a groin injury, but he will be fit to join the Indian tour as Malinga is more seriously hurt than Mathews.
The fans and the Sri Lankan cricket want Malinga back for the Asia cup. Without Malinga, the Sri Lankan team will never be the same. He brings the magic like no one with his fast bowling.

The team is expected to be filled with the young players as the injuries to the senior players are more severe. Sri Lanka’s T20 squad depends on how youngsters perform and make their space for the T20 world cup.
