Abdul Razzaq phenomenal ball to Tendulkar

First T20 was played between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh on January 15, 2016. This is going to be a wonderful tour of Zimbabwe to Bangladesh as the two relatively low teams in International cricket meet each other on the sub continent soil. The first T20 match started at 09:00 GMT in Khulna and Bangladesh won it by 4 wickets. Lets review this lovely game of cricket won by the home team.

Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat first. Elton Chigumbura is leading the Zimbabwe side for this series in Bangladesh. The first T20 on Friday the 15th was an exciting game of cricket as the three more games remains to be played. Shuvagata Hom is an impressive all round player who played his first ever International T20 game. This series is going to be a great help for both teams to strengthen their lineups for the upcoming World Cup T20. Both the nations are poor in rankings so far.

Bangladesh lineup was: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Shuvagata Hom, Nurul Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman and Al-Amin Hossain.
The Zimbabwe went into the field with: Vusi Sibanda, Hamilton Masakadza, Peter Moor, Sean Williams, Malcolm Waller, Sikandar Raza, Elton Chigumbura, Luke Jongwe, Graeme Cremer, Wellington Masakadza and Brian Vitori.

The match started at 9:00 GMT. The live broadcast was on on Star Sports and Gazi TV. Zimbabwe had a defeat against Afghanistan. That has really left them heartbroken for their fans. This series is their chance for redemption. The wicket was really friendly for batting. That is why the captain made a good decision to bat first and put a good total for Bangladesh for chase. The openers looked confident as they played some good strokes and boundaries in the first couple of overs. The first 50 runs came without a fall of wicket. Good run rate was maintained above 7 an over.It was wonder to watch Masakadza as he was 42 unbeaten after hitting 6 boundaries.

It became very difficult for Bangladesh to get the first breakthrough. The home crowd was demanding a wicket. They had so far seen the Zimbabwe dominance so far. Some difficult catching chances were missed in the field. A fantastic effort to take the catch at deep mid on by the fielder only made things worse because his feet touch the rope and that catch out chance was converted into a sixer for Zimbabwe batsman. That was very unlucky for Bangladesh.

Masakadza meanwhile completed his half century, it was his second against Bangladesh in T20. He raised his bat for an applause. That included 7 fours and a six. Also the total score was above 100 with that stroke. He also made the highest score for any Zimbabwe player against Bangladesh later on in this match. So that was a match to remember for Masakadza. He remained on the wicket after the fall of two quick wickets. He was dropped by Shakib Ul Hassan when he was playing on 75. Bangladesh again wanted his wicket desperately.

Mustafizur Rehman was brought back into the attack as a last hope. He did great job for his captain by taking two quick wickets. He got rid of two Zimbabwe batsmen on two consecutive deliveries. The third ball of the over was supposed to be his hat trick ball, but he could not get it. The last over was interesting, Zimbabwe middle order batsman was able to hit a tremendous six but on the last ball, he got clean bold. That was a good finish by Bangladesh, restricting Zimbabwe to a disappointing total of 163 in 20 overs. Vusi Sibanda made 46 with the top scorer Hamilton Masakadza who was runout for 79. Zimbabwe lost 7 wickets. The best bowler was Shakib Al Hasan who took 2 wickets.

Tamim Iqbal opened the innings for Bangladesh nicely. He hit 3 boundaries and a sixer for his 29 runs off 24 balls. His partner got run out early who was Soumya Sarkar. Sabbir Rahman supported him magnificently by making a total of 46 runs in 36 deliveries. He had hit 4 boundaries and 1 sixer. Later on Mushfiqur Rahim also supported the Bangladesh batting side with a good knock of 26 in only 19 balls. Shakib Al Hasan made quick 20 runs at 13 balls which proved to be the turning point of the match in favor of Bangladesh. He remained not out. Bangladesh won the match when they scored 166 runs in 18.4 overs. The last batsman out was (Mahmudullah, in the 17th over. Brian Vitori and Luke Jongwe were the best bowlers of Zimbabwe who took 2 wickets each.

We are all waiting for the next match which is going to be on the same ground. That will surely be an exciting contest between these two teams.
