Bangladesh Vs New Zealand at Kolkata World Cup 2016
India and New Zealand both are in the way of Bangladesh to knock them out of world cup 2016. Even if they beat India on Wednesday night, they still have to beat the roaring Kiwi side, which will be an uphill task for the injury affected Bangladesh side. Truly Bangladesh seem to be in deep trouble according to the odds. Bangladesh Vs New is definitely no one-sided affair at Kolkata because of the fabulous 5 wicket bowling of Mustafizur Rahman who knocked the wind out of Kiwis batting line up.
Captain Williamson was the top scorer with 42 who was bold by Mustafizur Rahman. Batting first decision turned out to be less fruitful against the fired up Bangladesh when Nichollls was bold by Mustafizur Rahman on 7. Collin Munro and Taylor batted well for a good partnership which was broken in the 15th over by Amin Hossain who got who got Munro for 35.
Anderson was bold for a duck and Elliot and Ronchi could only make 9 runs both. The middle order collapsed in the last five overs and Kiwis could only manage to make 145 in the 20 overs. All credit goes to Mustafizur and Bangladesh brilliant bowlers.
This was a shocker for New Zealand before the semi-final. Tamim Iqbal with Mohammad Mithun opened the batting for Bangladesh. Tamim was unfortunately runout in the 2nd over by Munro.
Regarding the performance against India it was looking like if Bangladesh is going to make a possible upset today and beat the mighty giants New Zealand. But all that was turned into nightmare by the equally beautiful bowling and fielding of Kiwis. They destroyed Bangladesh on 70 runs.
Elliot and Sodhi took 3 wickets each. McCullum and Santner took 1 wicket each. Sabbir and Mithun were able to stand on the wicket for a few minutes. Both got into double figures. But no other batsman in the middle or tail could produce anything for Bangladesh.
Sabir and Shakib went out for 12 and 2 respectively by playing silly shots. Soumya and Mahmudullah were the stars against India. A lot was on their shoulders. But both became the victim of Sodhi’s tremendous deliveries.
The only batsman in double figure in the middle order was Shuvagata who remained not out and showed some resistance. But he was running out of partners quickly, he could only manage 16 runs. Elliot got rid of both the tail enders Mustafizur and Mortaza for 6 and 3. The single most sixer of the innings was hit by Mustafizur Rahman when it was too late to come back into the game. The party was over. Only ashes remain for Bangladesh. Newzealand have won all their matches in style.
