The construction of this mega project was started on 6 January 2004 and after the five years construction the building completed on 30 December 2009 and since 2010 it is considered as the tallest building in the world. Having 163 floors, Burj Khalifa was officially opened on 4 January 2010 first time for the general public. This large scale construction has 30,000 homes, Parkland of 3 hectares, 9 hotels, 19 residential towers and 12 hectare Burj Khalifa Lake which is man-made. Constructed with 1.5 billion US dollars it is developed by Emaar Properties and designed by Adrian Smith. The Structural engineer was Bill Baker. The beautiful and prettiest building was actually made by the government in order to diversify it from an oil based economy to tourism and services.
2-Taipei 101 (Taiwan)
Another prettiest, glamorous and 2nd tallest building in the world is Taipei 101 which is located in Xinyi District Taipei Taiwan. This landmark was considered as the tallest from 2004-2010 until the construction of Burj Khalifa. Taipei 101 which was formerly known as Taipei World Financial Center is constructed with the cost of NT$ 58 billion having 101 floors with the height of 509 meters where its top floor is of 439 meters high. Having the height of 1614 ft (492 m), Shanghai World Financial Center is the 3rd tallest Building in the word which was created with the cost of USD $ 1.20 billion. This super sky scraper landmark is located in 100 century avenue, Pudong (Shanghai, China). This prettiest building is consists of offices, museum, hotels, retail, observation and Parking garage. The Construction of this stunning building was started on 27 August 1997 and completed in 2008. It has 101 floors having the floor area of 381,600 square meters and 91 elevators or lifts. It was officially opened on 28 August 2008 as the owner of Shanghai World Financial Center Co, Ltd. Shanghai World Financial Center is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Developed by Mori Building Co.

5-(Tie) Petronas Tower 1 (Malaysia)

Petronas Towers are basically the twin towers having the same structure and height located in Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). From 1998 to 2004 The Petronas Towers were the tallest structures in the world according to CTBUH (Council on tall buildings & Urban Habitat) which was surpassed by Taipei 101. 7-Willis tower (Chicago)
Willis Tower which is also known as Sears Tower (1973-2009) is the 7th tallest building in the world having the height of 1,450 ft (442 m). Willis Tower was considered as the tallest in the world from 1973 to 1998 which was taken by Petronas Twin Towers. KK 100 consists of 100 floors & 66 lifts offering the total floor area of 220,000 square meters. This mega project was designed by Terry Farrell and structural engineer was Arup. 9-Guangzhou International Finance Center (China)

Having the height of 438.6 m (1,439 ft) it was completed in 2010 with the total cost of GBP (Pound sterling) 280 million. This 103 storey building is located in Guangzhou, China which is designed by Wilkinson Eyre. It has 374 rooms, 103 floors that are used for hotels and commercial offices.
10-One World Trade Center
The last but not the least name in our countdown is of One World Trade Center which is located in New York, United States of America. It is constructed with the total cost of US$ 3.9 billion and was officially opened 3 November 2014 for the public. This Super tall structure consists of 104 floors having the total floor area of 3,501,274 square feet and is 541.3 meters high. Remember this building is constructed on the place of World trade center which was destroyed in the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.
