1-Burj Khalifa (Dubai)

The 829.8 meters (2,722 ft) taller Burj Khalifa also known as Burj Dubai is the tallest building in the world. This Sky scraper is located in 1 Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Blvd-Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The construction of this mega project was started on 6 January 2004 and after the five years construction the building completed on 30 December 2009 and since 2010 it is considered as the tallest building in the world. Having 163 floors, Burj Khalifa was officially opened on 4 January 2010 first time for the general public. This large scale construction has 30,000 homes, Parkland of 3 hectares, 9 hotels, 19 residential towers and 12 hectare Burj Khalifa Lake which is man-made. Constructed with 1.5 billion US dollars it is developed by Emaar Properties and designed by Adrian Smith. The Structural engineer was Bill Baker. The beautiful and prettiest building was actually made by the government in order to diversify it from an oil based economy to tourism and services.

2-Taipei 101 (Taiwan)

Another prettiest, glamorous and 2nd tallest building in the world is Taipei 101 which is located in Xinyi District Taipei Taiwan. This landmark was considered as the tallest from 2004-2010 until the construction of Burj Khalifa. Taipei 101 which was formerly known as Taipei World Financial Center is constructed with the cost of NT$ 58 billion having 101 floors with the height of 509 meters where its top floor is of 439 meters high. This super sky scraper was completed in 2004 and on 31 December 2004 was officially opened for the general public. Basically this gigantic building is created as a symbol of Asian Tradition and the Evolution of technology. The type of the building is of Commercial offices which is managed by Urban Retail Properties & owned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation. The LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) awarded Taipei 101 the Platinum Certification in July 2011 that made it as the largest and tallest green building in the world.

3-Shanghai World Financial Center (China)

Having the height of 1614 ft (492 m), Shanghai World Financial Center is the 3rd tallest Building in the word which was created with the cost of USD $ 1.20 billion. This super sky scraper landmark is located in 100 century avenue, Pudong (Shanghai, China). This prettiest building is consists of offices, museum, hotels, retail, observation and Parking garage. The Construction of this stunning building was started on 27 August 1997 and completed in 2008. It has 101 floors having the floor area of 381,600 square meters and 91 elevators or lifts. It was officially opened on 28 August 2008 as the owner of Shanghai World Financial Center Co, Ltd. Shanghai World Financial Center is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Developed by Mori Building Co.

4-International Commerce Center (China)

The 118 storey and 484 meters (1,588 ft) tallest, International Commerce Center comes at number four in our list. This super sky scraper commercial building was completed in 2010 which took eight years to complete. Having the total floor area of 274,064 square meters it consists of 118 floors where the top floor is of 468.8 meters tall. This mega and amazing building is located in 1 Austin road west, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong (China). This Complex used building is for Hotel & Commercial offices. This is the tallest building in Hong Kong and is the 8th tallest in the world by Height and of course is the world’s 4th tallest by number of floors. This sky scraper is managed by Kai Shing Management Services Limited and developed by Sun Hung Kai Properties.

5-(Tie) Petronas Tower 1 (Malaysia)

AT number five there comes (Tie) Petronas Tower 1 among the top ten tallest buildings of the world. Petronas Towers are basically the twin towers having the same structure and height located in Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). From 1998 to 2004 The Petronas Towers were the tallest structures in the world according to CTBUH (Council on tall buildings & Urban Habitat) which was surpassed by Taipei 101. These landmark structures are actually the symbol of Malaysian rise and excellence which was completed on 1 March 1996 with the cost of US$ 1.6 billion.  It has a height of 452 meters (1483 ft) that consist of 88 floors. The Tie Petronas Towers are owned and developed by KLCC Holdings Sdn Bhd and designed by Cesar Pelli.

6-Zifeng Tower (China)

Zifeng Tower (China) is one of the prettiest and glamorous buildings in the world that is located at the height of 1480 ft (450 m) in Nanjing, China.  This mixed use super sky scraper was completed in 2010 and officially opened on 18 December 2010 for the public. As far as its design & construction is concerned, it is designed by Adrian Smith and structural engineer was Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. In the 450 meters height 66 floors are included where the top floor has been constructed at the height of 317 m.

7-Willis tower (Chicago)

Willis Tower which is also known as Sears Tower (1973-2009) is the 7th tallest building in the world having the height of 1,450 ft (442 m). Willis Tower was considered as the tallest in the world from 1973 to 1998 which was taken by Petronas Twin Towers. This beautiful building is situated in Chicago, United States of America that is serving as the Office, Observation & Communication. 45 years ago its construction was started in 1970 that was completed in 1973 having 108 floors & 104 lifts or elevators. It has now become one of the major tourist attractions in United States where more than one million people reaches annually to this place and observe its observation deck.

8-KK 100 (China)

KK 100 which is formerly known as Kingkey 100 is located at the height of 442 m (1,449 ft) in Shenzhen, China and is the 8th tallest building in the world right now. This Commercial mixed use building comprises of hotel and offices which was completed in September 2011. KK 100 consists of 100 floors & 66 lifts offering the total floor area of 220,000 square meters. This mega project was designed by Terry Farrell and structural engineer was Arup. KK 100 is owned by Kingkey Group; surely this sky scraper is one of the prettiest constructions in the world having all the latest technologies and innovations.

9-Guangzhou International Finance Center (China)

As you see that chine is dominating in the list of world’s top ten tallest buildings and Guangzhou International Finance Center is another Chinese super sky scraper which comes at number nine. Having the height of 438.6 m (1,439 ft) it was completed in 2010 with the total cost of GBP (Pound sterling) 280 million. This 103 storey building is located in Guangzhou, China which is designed by Wilkinson Eyre. It has 374 rooms, 103 floors that are used for hotels and commercial offices.

10-One World Trade Center

The last but not the least name in our countdown is of One World Trade Center which is located in New York, United States of America. It is constructed with the total cost of US$ 3.9 billion and was officially opened 3 November 2014 for the public. This Super tall structure consists of 104 floors having the total floor area of 3,501,274 square feet and is 541.3 meters high. Remember this building is constructed on the place of World trade center which was destroyed in the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001. One World Trade Center is designed by David Childs & Daniel Libeskind and developed by Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.
