Gujrat Lions thumped Rising Pune Supergiants in 6th match of IPL

IPL is becoming interesting with every passing day and same was the case with last night contest between Gujrat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants. Rising Pune Supergiants put a reasonable total on the board and were in a position to defeat the opponents. However, they were surprised by the opening pair that scored 50 and 49 respectively.

Batting first Rising Pune Supergiants got a good start in the shape of Rahane and Faf du Plessis but could not hold onto it unfortunately. Rahane departed after steady 21 and Keven Pietersen joined his native player in the middle. They were good with the third wicket partnership quick 86 runs in the total.

This was a perfect platform for the team and they should have converted this into a big total. With plenty of batting to come, including the skipper Dhoni, everyone was expecting a gigantic total. But from that particular point, no one was able to make an impact for his side.

The good bowling of Gujrat Lions restricted the new franchise of the IPL to a comparatively low total as for the conditions were concerned. At the end of the innings, the bowling side was happy to restrict the opponents to 160 odds.

In reply, Gujrat Lions were flying high after an early impact by two openers. Finch and McCullum scored 50 and 49 in no time to help their side to important victory. The match has pointed out several drawbacks of Rising Pune Supergiants as a unit which they need to address in the coming matches.
